lazy sunday afternoon
Published January 14th, 2007 in food, friends, homeit’s so weird-yesterday felt like an early spring day (weather was decent, birds chirping) but today was just cold and crappy. what a shitty day (it’s rainy and 33ÂșC-yuck). i’m under my comfy down-type comforter with the laptop emitting heat onto my legs…and i’m still cold!
today we picked up our friend surrendra to go eat at woodman’s up in essex (which i’ve never been to, but i’m always down for some seafood). on the way up we had to stop by the 301 gallery in beverly to replace one of camilo’s print in the show that got damaged during transport. that didn’t take too long but since we got a late start on the day and none of us have had breakfast-we were starving by the time we got to woodman’s. surrendra and i were so excited to eat seafood (camilo is not that big a seefood fan) so we ordered a sample platter for us to share along with some clam chowder and coleslaw, camilo had the haddock, and i asked for one of their homemade clamcakes (they looked so good). when we got our food i was stoked to just be eating, but you could tell the food was fresh (seafood was tasty and tender) and the homemade clamcake was actually pretty good (i read somewhere that they ship them to your door is you want). but what i don’t understand is why everything was fried? it’s seems to be a popular thing to have fried seafood with fried fries and fried onion rings..fried fried fried… the non fried menu consisted of steamed lobster and clams…not very exciting. either way it was still good, but on the heavy side. after that meal, the ride home felt like it took forever. i couldn’t have been more anxious about getting home… with the crappy weather, and the meal i just had i couldn’t stop thinking about my bed!
anyway, i’m just glad i’m home and in bed. going to try and get some early sleep-there is a lot to do next week. not to mention writing that email to my new found family member-but i’m just too tired to even think right now-i think my brain is fried for the day.
