so today was no ordinary day…i come back from lunch to find a little square box on my chair…i opened it to find that i just got my new camera-woo hoo! i couldn’t be anymore excited (so excited that it was hard for me to concentrate on the work i had to do). but i managed to at least put it together (body, lends, strap, memory card, charged the battery). once the battery was charged it took us a few minutes to figure out why the camera kept giving me an error code when i turned it on…turns out i had to ‘format’ the card in order for it to work. no biggie-that was easy. so by this time it’s after 5, and a fellow co-worker, paul (who helped me figure out about the formatting) suggested we take some action shots-so we did! i set myself up to take the shot while he ran across the hall and jumped in the middle-lol-barry (another co-worker) joined in the fun (as did I at some point)-the pics didn’t come out great-but it was a lot of fun to take-and they make a funny looped-so i turned them into a loop. as a result of the jumping paul got a nasty rug burn (which I had to take a picture of-so I warn you in advance, it’s kinda gross).

when i finally left work (i kinda stayed late today) i experienced the worst and scariest drive home ever. as i drove off, there was some flurry coming down-but right when i got on the highway-it really started to snow. so much so that i could barely see the road: the lines were covered in snow and i had to follow the car in front of me. whenever i caught a glimpse of the road lines, i’d realize that i was not in the lane. i though, this would be could to shoot…but i don’t think that driving with one hand at this point was a good idea.

eventually i got home and camilo got to play with the camera. here’s one of the better ‘first’ shots with my new camera (meet jackson)
